SHA Series · M-67
AG Measurematics offers a range of computerised servo hydraulic actuators with load cells and LVDTs, a hydraulic power unit, servo valve for cylinder control, signal conditioners for transducers, a computerised controller, and application software — delivered as a complete, ready-to-test system.
The SHA series provides accurate control of position or force for structural testing under both quasi-static and dynamic conditions. Each unit is pre-fitted with a world-class imported servo valve, a force-rated load cell, and a full-stroke LVDT — calibrated and integrated before dispatch.
A servo hydraulic actuator is a hydraulic cylinder governed by a high-speed servo valve and a real-time feedback controller. The controller compares the measured output (force or displacement) with the target command and adjusts the servo valve opening — hundreds of times per second — to eliminate the error instantly. This gives the brute force of hydraulics with electronic-grade precision.

Built-In Protocols
User-programmable control modes and waveforms — select, set parameters, and test.
Ramp force or displacement to failure — load-deflection curve, yield point, and ultimate capacity
Constant-amplitude sine wave loading for fatigue life, S-N curves, and crack-growth studies
Linear ramp up and down — ideal for pushover and reverse-cyclic structural tests per ATC-24
Step load and hold — captures creep, relaxation, and time-dependent deformation at constant force or displacement
User-defined loading rate (kN/s or mm/s) — meets code-specified loading rates for IS, ASTM, and IRC standards
Hardware and software peak force and displacement limits prevent specimen or fixture overload during automated cycling
Engineering Excellence
Computerised servo controller maintains force within ±1% and position within ±0.5% of the set-point throughout the test. Switch between modes mid-sequence without stopping.
Built-in sinusoidal, triangular, square, and ramp-with-rate waveform generators — covers quasi-static ramp loading through high-cycle fatigue and seismic simulation.
High-bandwidth imported servo valve fitted directly on the actuator for fast, accurate flow control — minimises phase lag and ensures faithful waveform reproduction.
Load cell rated to actuator force capacity and LVDT spanning the full stroke are factory-fitted on each actuator — calibrated and ready to test on delivery.
Modular table-top cabinet with built-in signal conditioners for load cell and LVDT, servo valve driver, DAQ for PC interface, and USB connection to the supplied desktop computer.
Floor-mounted HPU sized to deliver oil at the required pump discharge rate for maximum test velocity. Incorporates oil tank, pump, manifold, pressure gauge, pressure switches, and unloader valve.
Computerised setup, operation, and data storage. On-line and off-line graph plotting. Test report generation in pre-specified formats or custom user formats.
14 standard models across five force classes (20–250 kN) and three stroke options (50, 100, 200 mm). Swivel-end brackets and fixing accessories available as optional add-ons.
