Complete system for determination of in-situ dynamic properties of soils as per IS 5249-1992. Mechanical oscillators, digital vibration & phase meters, and computerized analysis — used by geotechnical consultants and engineering colleges across India and abroad.
Key Specifications
Geotechnical Instrumentation
To prevent damage to foundations due to vibration it is essential to determine the dynamic properties of soil on site. The procedure for determination of different soil properties is described in IS 5249-1992.
AG Measurematics manufactures equipment for meeting the technical requirements of this standard — both for generating vibrations of the concrete block as well as equipment for measurement of vibration values required for calculation of different dynamic properties of soil.
System
MO Series — Lazan Type
Variable eccentricity mechanical oscillators for forced vibration generation on concrete test blocks. 5 models from 12 kN to 50 kN force rating.
DVM-32
Field instrument measuring and displaying peak-to-peak acceleration values directly in m/sec². Accepts two MEMS acceleration transducers with selector switch.
APM-2
Measures phase angle between two vibration waveforms for determination of elastic modulus as described in Para 5 of IS 5249.
DPSA 8402
High-speed data acquisition with signal conditioning and DPSoil software for automated recording, analysis, and test report generation per IS 5249-1992.

Computerized Analysis
DPSA 8402 works in conjunction with DPSoil application software and allows computerization of testing and logging of data into a computer. View frequency, acceleration and displacement values during block vibration tests, and log the desired values into a file on the hard disk of a connected laptop PC.
It also has facility to enter block mass, block area, set eccentricity, and site ID. Various coefficients can be calculated from the stored data and a test report can be viewed and printed. This results in increased accuracy of calculation and tremendous saving of time.
DPSA 8402 incorporates signal conditioning circuit for acceleration and vibration pickups and a high-speed Data Acquisition System. It connects to a computer through a USB port.

Features
Complete system designed to meet all requirements of IS 5249-1992 for determination of in-situ dynamic properties of soils — test procedures per Para 5.4.1, 5.4.2, 5.4.3, 5.6, and 7.1.1.
Precision mechanical oscillators with adjustable eccentricity (0–140 deg) in a thick-walled cast aluminium oil-filled housing for reliable, repeatable forced vibration generation.
Five oscillator models from 12 kN to 50 kN force rating at 3,000 rpm allow testing across a broad range of soil conditions and block sizes.
Digital vibration meter and phase angle meter both use supplied MEMS transducers for accurate measurement of acceleration and phase response without fragile sensors.
DPSA 8402 system with DPSoil software performs high-speed data acquisition, signal conditioning, and automatic evaluation of all seven key soil dynamic parameters.
Supplied as a complete package: oscillator, speed control unit, vibration meter, phase angle meter, computerized analysis system, all transducers, cables, and accessories.
