Complete test lab for qualifying wheelchairs per ISO 7176 and IS 18651 — covering static strength, fatigue endurance, curb drop, static stability, and braking effectiveness in a single integrated suite.

Applicable Standards
WTM Series
India's BIS adopted IS 18651 in 2024 — the performance-based wheelchair test standard aligned with ISO 7176. Unlike the earlier IS 7454 (design-spec only), IS 18651 mandates physical testing of every wheelchair before supply to government procurement schemes such as ADIP.
The WTM Series provides a complete, standards-compliant test lab in a single integrated package — covering all five core test disciplines required for IS 18651 / ISO 7176 type approval, from a single supplier with installation, calibration, and NABL documentation support.
Wheelchair Testing Systems
Five dedicated test machines covering every test discipline required for ISO 7176 / IS 18651 type approval.
Applies controlled static and impact loads to armrests, footrests, push handles, and caster forks. Measures force and deformation to verify structural integrity against the load limits in ISO 7176-8.
Simulates 200,000 cycles of rough terrain travel on two steel drums (250 mm dia.) fitted with raised bumps. The wheelchair is loaded with a standardised test dummy at rated occupant mass and driven at 1 m/s.
Drops the loaded wheelchair repeatedly from a 50 mm height to simulate kerb descent. PLC-controlled pneumatic release ensures consistent drop height and records cumulative cycle count automatically.
Motorised tilt platform measures the angle at which the wheelchair tips forward, rearward, and laterally — both with brakes applied and wheels free. Real-time digital angle display with ±0.5° accuracy.
Multi-slope adjustable ramp for measuring braking distance and slope-holding performance. Tests are conducted at 0°, 3°, 6°, and 10° slopes. Braking distance is measured to 100 mm resolution per ISO 7176-3.
